The Gorge Story
Where it all began
In 2019, I married Joel, I then started a business called Gorge (www.gorgemagazines.co.nz). Because I couldn't find a modern album to store my wedding photos in. This shaped to be the perfect home job for me whilst being pregnant through 2019/2020 and then working as a stay at home mum.
Why the name Gorge? Joel and I lived in Gisborne for about 9 months in 2019/2020 and on a drive back to Mount Maunganui, we were going through the Waioeka Gorge, which is known for its scenic beauty.. and that is how the name Gorge came to life. Because our Magazine Albums are simply Gorgeous!

My little family consists of Joel (hubby), Beau & Aisha, and a big fur ball German Shepherd called Ziggy. Raised on a deer farm in the Kaimais, which I loved, I always dreamt of living at the beach. Most of my working career was in the real estate industry, doing office administration and marketing type jobs. I tried to sell houses, but noooo I hated it! I have lived and worked in London, which was absolutely epic! Traveled loads!
I also have a photography business, which I am absolutely passionate about, www.bechodgson.com. After looking at millions of photos taken by incredible photographers for 5+ years, I only just realised my newfound career as a photographer in April 2023. I'm self-taught and have always had a creative streak in my blood. So, there you have it, the little story behind Gorge. Have a beautiful day!
